First I would like to thank you Dr. Baloubi for helping me to understand the proper way to write the explanatory paper. 

Second, I really enjoyed class tonight.  I know that I am really going to enjoy writing my argumentative paper, especially since we get to choose our own topic.  An argument synthesis is when you explain and argue.  This type of paper is informative and persuasive.  The thesis/claim has three factors [three types].  They are:

1. Fact - the test of true or false

Ex. George Bush is an alcoholic.

2. Policy - should we, shouldn't we

Ex. Should children wear uniforms to school.

3. Value - should pass the test of right and wrong, deals with moral issues

Ex. It is wrong to have sex outside of marriage.

When writing this type of paper you also have to remember to support all your data.  You need to have evidence.  There are two forms of evidence: hard and soft.
