2006, a number of proposals have been sent out to NC Space
Center, affiliated with NASA, DoD, and to DoE.

Professor
Deva Sharma has joined his position of head of the Division
Nanoscience and Nanotechnoloy Education and Outreach.

The
Division of Education and Outreach is granted three major
grants to fund its education programs.

The
Division of Nano-Optoelectronic has received a microelectronic
clean-room suite of equipment from NIST, as a donation. The
equipment is for processing semiconductors and related
materials.

The,
Associate Director Prof. A. Karoui has contributed in the
organization of the North Carolina Nanobiotechnology Conference
2006, Research Triangle Park, which was fully sponsored by the
NC Biotechnology Center. Prof. A. Karoui has put together a
session on nanotechnology research in the HBCU schools. Three
contributions and posters from NNRC have been presented.
