  • Dr E. Williams and Dr H. Asemota have attended the CFN Summer School 2007, Bad Herrenalb, Germany, organized by the DFG-Center for Functional Nanostructures. August 2007.

  • Dr D. Sharma has attended a conference on Nnaotechnology Teaching, in Nevada, March 2007.

  • Prof. A. Karoui has received an award from the DoD for the project:

    • photovoltaic system engineering research

    • novel concept of photovoltaic devices and systems,

    • photovoltaic materials, and

    • photovoltaic for autonomous miniature systems

  • The NNRC is contributing in the organization of  the Fourteenth International Conference on Composite and Nano-Engineering, Boulder, Colorado, USA, July 2-8, 2006, with two sessions:

    • Nano-Materials and Novel Concepts for Energy Generation (Prof A. Karoui)

    • Nanoparticle Dosimetry, Toxicology and Cellular Interactions    (Prof. H. Asemota)

  • Both Dr E. Williams and Dr H. Asemota have received the Faculty Development Award from Shaw University

  • In January 2006, a number of proposals have been sent out to NC Space Center, affiliated with NASA, DoD, and to DoE.

  • Professor Deva Sharma has joined his position of head of the Division Nanoscience and Nanotechnoloy Education and Outreach.

  • The Division of  Education and Outreach is granted three major grants to fund its education programs.

  • The Division of Nano-Optoelectronic has received a microelectronic clean-room suite of equipment from NIST, as a donation. The equipment is for processing semiconductors and related materials.

  • The, Associate Director Prof. A. Karoui has contributed in the organization of the North Carolina Nanobiotechnology Conference 2006, Research Triangle Park, which was fully sponsored by the NC Biotechnology Center. Prof. A. Karoui has put together a session on nanotechnology research in the HBCU schools. Three contributions and posters from NNRC have been presented.

  • Professor A. Karoui has contributed in the organization of  the Twelfth International Conference on Composite and Nano-Engineering, (ICCE - 12), August 1-6, 2005, Tenerife, Spain    ICCE-12 Scientific Committee and Review Board.
