  Materials Research Society (MRS)  : A non-profit organization which brings together scientists, engineers and research managers from industry, government, academia and research laboratories to share findings in the research and development of new materials of technological importance. NCSU has a student chapter.

 

  Materials Technical Society (MTS)  : Materials Science and Engineering; Professional Society

 

  The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) is an international society dedicated to advancing optics and photonics.

 

  American Physics  Society

 

  American Institute of Physics promotes the advancement and diffusion of knowledge in physics, astronomy, and related fields of science and the related technologies and applications to human welfare.

 

  Electrochemical Society (ECS) : The Electrochemical Society has become the leading society for solid-state and electrochemical science and technology.
