When
the professor takes role, class has officially begun; arriving after role
has been taken is a “tardy” or “late”
If
you are more than fifteen (15) minutes late to class, it is at the
professor’s discretion whether to mark you as “late” or “absent”
Two
(2) unexcused tardies is an automatic “Absence”
After
three (3) unexcused absences, your grade may be reduced.
For example, if you have four (4) unexcused absences, and your
grade is an “A”, you may receive a “B”.
If you have five (5) unexcused absences, and your grade is a
“B”, you may receive a “D”.
Six
(6) unexcused absences is an automatic “F” in the class.
If
you have an excused absence, you may turn any work in on the next class
day for full credit. If you
turn the work in later, you will receive a reduced grade.
If
you have an unexcused absence, it is at the professor’s discretion
whether to accept the work. If
the work is accepted, it may be reduced one (1) letter grade for every
class it is late. For
example, if your work was an “A” and you were unexcused two (2) days,
the highest possible grade you may receive is a “C”.
At
any time you may ask to examine and discuss your grades.
Grades
are not negotiable.
It
is possible to alter an average or grade by the following means, and ONLY
at the professor’s discretion and permission:
Extra
credit
Re-doing
the work
Other
options determined by professor
